There comes a point when spreadsheets are no longer enough and off‑the‑shelf programs force you to change your way of working to fit them. That's when a custom development makes sense.
A web application runs in the browser: no installation needed and it can be accessed from any device. A mobile application is installed on the phone and can use camera, location and notifications. A API is the bridge that allows two systems to exchange data automatically.
The important thing: the system is designed around your actual process, and the code remains in your name. If tomorrow you want to switch teams, you can.
